    Nice post. Love the music. I have wondered this at times, but always when I was not near a computer, figure I’ll ask you. Are there any modern bands that follow a similar Jimmy Witherspoon style that swing for Lindy Hoppers? Have you encountered any?

    Yeah, there are a few. Can’t think of many off the top of my head, besides George Gee’s Jump Jive n Wailers, esp their album ‘If Dreams Come True’ http://www.georgegee.com/buy-georgegee-music/

    There are people like Lavay Smith who do something similar…

    To be honest, there’re quite a few modern day jump/later swing era type smaller bands with shouting vocalists. I’m not hugely keen on these repro bands, as the originals are better and still really good quality recordings…
